PRIVACY POLICY

Alameda County Agricultural Fair Association (ACAFA) is committed to promoting and protecting the privacy rights of individuals. It is our policy to limit and safeguard the privacy of all personal information collected.

INFORMATION COLLECTION AND MANAGEMENT

All respondent personal information is provided voluntarily to ACAFA (and/or partners and affiliates) through email requests, registration forms, contest entries, surveys, sign-ups and online purchases through our online ticketing service company. The Fairgrounds does not collect home or business email addresses or account information from visitors who browse our Internet sites.

 

WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT OR STORE

We may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users place an order through our online ticketing service company, subscribe to the newsletter, respond to a survey, fill out a form, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. Users may be asked for name, email address, mailing address, phone number. We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Unless otherwise specified, individuals who provide contact information will be included in the Fair’s email bulletin distribution.

The Fair’s online ticketing system is through a third party, our ticketing service company, and all financial information provided by the customer is completely private and unshared with the ACAFA. Credit Card information is for the sole purpose of billing for products purchased from their site and not shared with the Alameda County Fair. User information such as name and email are available to Alameda County Fairgrounds and is used to send updates on purchases or Fairgrounds news. Users may opt-out at any time, but will no longer receive updates on their latest purchase(s). If User opts out, when User places a future order, they will be automatically unsubscribed. To re-subscribe and receive updates on new purchases, the User must opt-in through the Fair’s website, alamedacountyfair.com.

In some cases, customers may provide information for additional persons. For example, if multiple Season Passes are purchased, contact information for each pass holder may be included in the same transaction. Persons subscribed during the process may unsubscribe at any time.

Guests always have the option to remove themselves from the Fair’s distribution list by contacting us (see “Opt-in/Opt-out” below). The data is stored in an email program and not used other than to communicate purchase information or upcoming events.

Demographic information collected may be used for targeted advertising or promotional campaigns. Statistical data may be used to evaluate favorability or response to content, programs and promotions offered by ACAFA.

HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We will retain shopping history and use details of the products you have previously purchased to make suggestions to you for other products which we believe you will also be interested in and to improve our Site and ticket offerings. (Reference “Web Browser Cookies” below).

We will retain and evaluate information on your recent visits to our website and how you move around different sections of our website for analytics purposes to understand how people use our website so that we can make it more intuitive.

To personalize user experience:  Information is used in the aggregate to understand how our Users as a group use the services and resources provided on our Site.

To improve customer service: Information helps us respond to customer service requests and support needs more efficiently. 

To send periodic emails: Email addresses from ticketing company used to send User information and updates pertaining to their personal order(s) or future orders. It may also be used to respond to their inquiries, questions or other requests. If User decides to opt-in to our mailing list through alamedacountyfair.com, they will receive emails that may include company news, updates, related product or service information, etc. If at any time the User would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email or User may contact us via our Site.

WEB BROWSER COOKIES

Our Site may use “cookies” to enhance User experience. User’s web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and to track information about on the Site is navigated. User may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If they do so, note that some parts of the Site may not function properly.

Third party Trio Rewards, Inc. provides and manages secure online ticketing sales, a contactless payment solution, and related services for ACAFA, including a customer rewards program, powered by Trio® and another third-party platform, Saffire.  You can read the Trio® Privacy Policy. MAIL

Mail from the ACAFA is not sponsored or influenced by anyone other than ACAFA. No personal data is sold or offered to compromise recipients.  We take standard precautions against hacking and data breaches.

OPT-IN/OPT-OUT

Recipients may choose to remove themselves from the Fair’s distribution list, as stated in all promotional communications, by clicking the “unsubscribe” link located at the bottom of every email or by sending an email request to frontdesk@alamedacountyfair.com.

DATA RIGHTS

The ACAFA wants to be sure you are aware of your data protection rights. Every User and website visitor is entitled to the following rights.

 The Right to Access – Users have the right to request the ACAFA supply you with copies of your personal data. Users are subject to a small fee for this request.

 The Right to Rectification – Users have the right to request the ACAFA correct information that may be inaccurate. Users also have the right to request we complete information that may be incomplete.

 The Right to Erasure – Users have the right to request that the ACAFA erase and delete your personal data.

 The Right to Restrict Processing – Users have the right to request that the ACAFA restrict the processing of your personal data by opting out of emails.

 The Right to Object to Processing – Users have the right to object to the ACAFA processing your personal data by opting out of emails.
