Winter Glow Experience: A Drive-Thru Holiday Light Show

New Show! The Winter Glow Experience, a drive-thru holiday light show, features a one-mile route filled with spectacular light displays. Tune in to Christmas music on 88.9 FM and enjoy a magical holiday outing perfect for families, couples or friends. Don’t forget cozy blankets and a festive spirit!

On most nights of the experience, from 5 PM to 9:30 PM, light bites and holiday beverages will be available for purchase.

Great Train Show

Great Train Show

The nation’s largest traveling train show returns to the Alameda County Fairgrounds. This 2-day model train show features model trains for sale, exhibitors from across the country, huge operating model displays, free workshops and demonstrations, free test tracks to test run your trains at the show, activities for the kids and much more! 

Admission (cash only at the door):  
Adult: $14 Saturday, $13 Sunday (Saturday tickets good for both days!)

Upon arriving at Great Train Show, enter at Gate 8 or 12 off Valley Avenue. Park and walk; follow the wayfinding signs. The promoter has set up their entrance gate and security at this location and did not put a gate at the Pleasanton Avenue Gate, you will not be able to access the event from Pleasanton Avenue or Gate 2 due to the promoter’s fencing.      

Note – For the safety of all, the Yellow Gate is closed for entry, all guests must enter through the security gates

The Alameda County Fair And Event Center is conveniently located right off the I-680 Bernal Exit in Pleasanton.

There are 2 admission gates for events, check with the event for which Gate to use:

Gate 8 – Known as the “Main” entrance, Gate 8 is located right off of Valley Ave., cross street of Bernal Ave.

Gate 12 – Gate 12 is located off of Valley Ave. just past Gate 8, cross street Bernal Ave.

California Business and Professions Code Section 22500-22511

California Business and Professions Code Section 22500-22511 regulates ticket sellers, who are defined as “any person who for compensation, commission, or otherwise sells admission tickets to sporting, musical, theatre, or any other entertainment event.” Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 22503. Ticket sellers must abide by the following requirements:

·       Ticket sellers must have a permanent address from which to sell tickets and must be licensed as required by any local jurisdiction. Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 22500.

·       Ticket sellers must maintain records of ticket sales, deposits, and refunds Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 22501.

·       Ticket sellers must disclose prior to sale the location of the seats represented by the tickets Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 22502; and

·       Ticket sellers must disclose in any advertisement or promotion that they are adding a service charge. Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 22508.

Additionally, Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 22502.1 prohibits a ticket sellers from contracting for the sale of tickets, or accepting a deposit or full payment for tickets, unless the seller (a) possesses the tickets, (b) has a written contract to obtain the tickets, or (c) informs the purchaser, in the prescribed manner, that the seller does not possess the tickets and may not be able to supply them at the contracted price. 

Importantly, the above requirements “do not apply to any person who sells six tickets or less to any one single event, provided that such tickets are sold off the premises where the event is to take place.” Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 22504.

Alameda County prohibits the sale of tickets during a ten-day processing period following the ticket seller’s application for a license to engage in this business. Therefore, a Alameda County, Code of Ordinances, 5-5-5 Sales Activities Prohibited For Ten Day Processing Period.
