Guest Services at the Alameda County Fairgrounds: We’ve Got Your Back

What Is Guest Services?

At the Alameda County Fairgrounds, guest services means more than answering questions — it means creating positive experiences. Whether during the annual Alameda County Fair or one of the 300 year-round events, the Guest Services team ensures that every visitor feels welcome, informed, and valued. From phone inquiries to in-person assistance, it is all about connecting with guests and finding solutions.

Behind the Scenes

Throughout the year, the Fairgrounds front desk cheerfully greets callers, answers questions, and directs inquiries to the right departments. During Fair season, that effort multiplies. Dozens of calls an hour come in with questions about concert tickets, carnival vouchers, parking, or event times. When summer concerts go on sale, phones and inboxes light up with excitement from guests eager to plan their visit and secure the perfect seat.

During the Fair

When Fair season begins, the Customer Service team transitions from the front desk to the on-site Guest Services office. From there, they coordinate a staff of five information booths located across the Fairgrounds. Each booth is stocked with maps, schedules, and answers to every question imaginable. Guests stop by to ask where to find the best corn dog, the day’s concert or movie, or even where to refill a water bottle.

The team remains on duty until closing each night, ensuring guests exit safely and have everything they need. Working alongside Security, they assist with lost items, misplaced cars, and even reunite missing children with families. One year, they even helped locate lost teeth.
